摘要
里贝特是人类意识和自由意志的实验研究领域的一个先驱性神经科学家。里贝特的意识研究关注的问题包括:(1)心—身问题;(2)无意识与意识中的计时;(3)自由意志和有意识意志的因果作用;(4)意识体验的统一性。里贝特为解决意识体验的统一性和因果作用构想了有意识的心智场(Conscious Mental Field,CMF),但CMF实验检验不可能获得肯定结果,因为在CMF的界定中存在一个先验矛盾。这个矛盾是科学物质论与二元论混合的产物。
Benjamin Libet is a pioneering neuroscientist in the experimental study of human consciousness and free will. Libet’s research focuses on the following problems: (1) the mind -body problem; (2) timing in unconsciousness and \consciousness; (3) free will and the causation of conscious will; (4) the unity of conscious experience. In order to solve the unity and causation of conscious experience, Libet conceived a Conscious Mental Field (CMF). However, it is impossible to get a positive outcome from the test of CMF, because there is a priori contradiction in the definition of CMF. The contradiction is derived from the blending of scientific materialism with dualism.
