An Efficient Broadcast Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

摘要 广播操作是无线移动自组网络中常用的操作 ,通常采用洪泛来实现。无控制的洪泛会带来大量重复消息 ,大大降低网络的吞吐率 ,称为广播风暴问题。鉴此 ,本文提出了一个高效的广播协议。通过在广播时有选择地转发消息 ,该协议能大大减少洪泛中的广播开销。模拟试验证明 ,本文提出的协议性能优于洪泛 ,可伸缩性强 ,实现简单 ,能有效地用于移动自组网中。 Broadcast is a common operation in wireless mobile Ad Hoc networks.An intuitive way to implement broadcast is flooding.However,without effective control mechanisms,flooding will result in large amount of duplicate messages and decrease the throughput of the network,which is called the broadcast storm problem.This paper proposes an efficient broadcast protocol that can overcome the problem.By relaying broadcast messages selectively,the protocol can reduce the flooding overhead significantly.Simulation results show that the protocol outperforms flooding.It is scalable,simple,and can be deployed effectively in Ad Hoc networks.
