摘要 Dear Editor, The HIV-1 infection in humans has now become a pandemic and in the absence of treatment it often leads to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Although significant progress has been made to reduce the HIV-1 viral load in the blood of infected patients, challenges still exist in areas such as viral latency and viral resistance (Hosseinipour M C, 2013; Katlama C, 2013). To flush Dear Editor, The HIV-1 infection in humans has now become a pandemic and in the absence of treatment it often leads to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Although significant progress has been made to reduce the HIV-1 viral load in the blood of infected patients, challenges still exist in areas such as viral latency and viral resistance (Hosseinipour M C, 2013; Katlama C, 2013). To flush out or eradicate HIV-1 from the patients, scientists are examining the host factors that HIV-1 relies on for its replication (Shirakawa K, 2013; Walker B D, 2013).
