摘要
陇南书院是道立书院,由巩秦阶道兵备道董文涣于清光绪二年(1876年)创建。光绪三十年书院废止,改设学堂。陇南书院以治经与治事并举的实学为宗旨,加上有"陇南文宗"之称的秦州鸿儒任其昌主持,使之成为甘肃著名学府,对以秦州为中心的陇东南地区文化教育的繁荣和发展产生了积极的影响:一是以书院为导源形成了不少地方名校;二是培养了一大批人才;三是倡导了一种经世致用的学风。
Longnan Academy was established by Dong Wenhuan in 1876, and was abolished in 1904 with a school being its replacement. With classics and events being its principles, the Academy invited Ren Qichang as its chair, making it a famous institution of learning, and exercising great influnence upon the education around. Several famous schools appeared, and a lot of talents came out of the area, and a practical study style was advocated.
