摘要
文章讨论了现代汉语否定词"不"的句法地位,认为"不"拥有独立的否定投射,并担当否定功能投射的中心语,而不是动词短语嫁接语,也不是动词附缀。有关"不"的两个现象,一是通过否定词中心语移位所产生的末尾否定词问句,二是汉语中否定词和情态动词的结合方式,都证明了"不"否定中心语的地位;文章还重新讨论了先前研究中借以佐证"不"为动词短语嫁接语的论据和论证方法,认为它们不足以证明"不"为嫁接语。
This paper claims that the negation marker bu (不)inMandarin is not an adjunct of a VP or a clitic of a verb but a functional head heading an independent NegP in syntax.This claim is supported by Negative Particle Questions with buat the sentence final position and the linear order of buand modals as discussed in this paper.This Paper reanalyzes those arguments against this claim as proposed in the literature and finds that they lack adequate evidence for their functions as an adjunct.
