Study on Zhang Shangyi’s Tailor Family

从"纠谬"与"补遗"两个方面,对张尚义生平、横滨开发、张尚义子侄以及其他一些问题作了考证,认为张尚义到横滨开创西服业是不可能的;对张方广、张有松及其子孙对中国近现代服装业、对红帮群体的形成和发展,以及对横滨近现代服装业的发展作出的贡献予以肯定;对张方城父子创新中山装之说,作者表示存疑,尚待发掘确凿材料,进行论证。

From the aspects of correction and supplement, this paper studies the life of Zhang Shangyi, the development of Yokohama, the descendents of Zhang Shangyi and some other problems, and concludes that it is impossible for Zhang Shangyi to have created the western suit industry in Yokohama. It recognizes the contributions that Zhang Fangguang, Zhang Yousong and their descendents made to Chinese modern clothing industry, the formation and development of Hong Band community and the development of Yokohama modern clothing industry. The statement that Zhang Fangcheng and his son innovated Chinese tunic suit, to which the writer expresses his doubt, is still to be further studied and demonstrated with solid proof.
