语言预设是一个复杂的概念,在各种学科中有不同的含义。但在语用学中,语言预设是指说话人和听话人所共同分享的知识。本文试图将语用学的这一概念,运用于英译汉和汉译英的翻译实践。

Presupposition is a complicated concept in many fields, but in pragmatics it means the common knowledge shared by the addresser and the addressee. By using the pragmatic concept, the paper attempts to approach the methods of translation from English to Chinese and vice versa.
