As a rare ecological economic plant, developing the production of Helianthus tuberosus L. will have huge market space. In the paper, we summarized the resource distribution, cuhivar breeding, propagation method and development status of H. tuberosus L. enterprises, and overviewed its application in food processing industry, agriculture, industrial energy resources, medicine and health care, ecological protection and so on in China, which had important implications for improving its comprehensive development value.
