Marcuse＇s critique of modern technology is an important dimension of the critique of modornity, its essence is the social critique. Marcuse reveals the essence of the tool rationali- ty and the alienation of human beings by technology, further more, he analyzes the logical prosess from the＂techne＂of ancient Greek to the modern ＂technology＂, and points out that the important source of the crisis of modernity is a abruption of ＂truth＂and ＂value＂in modern technology. Conse- epnently, Marcuse attempt to save technology by rebuilding the relation of ＂truth＂and ＂value＂ in mod- el technology which separated from each other, so as to resolve the crisis of modernity ultimately.
