是服从,抑或是抗争?——评A.S.拜厄特《占有》中的女性形象

Obedience or Contending:Women Images in Possession by A.S.Byatt

《占有》是英国当代女作家A.S.拜厄特的最成功的作品之一。作者在小说中塑造了多个女性形象,大致分为三类:其一,"天使"——家庭的牺牲品;其二,"看不见的女人"——孤独地生活在社会的边缘;其三,"新女性"——追求独立与自我实现。三类女性在家庭与社会中表现出不同程度的服从或抗争,其不同的人生轨迹共同谱写成一部完整的女性史。分析不同类别的女性形象,有利于揭示女性的不同命运及其产生的社会根源。

Possession was one of the most successful writings by A.S.Byatt,the contemporary woman writer in Britain.In the novel many female images were created,who can be roughly divided into three types：first,＂the angel＂,who were the victims in their families;second,＂the invisible women＂,who lived in loneliness far from the center of the society;third,＂the new women＂,who pursued independence and self-fulfillment.The three types of women displayed varying degrees of their obedience to or contention with their families and society,and their different life experiences composed a full history of women.The analysis of those women is quite helpful to reveal the various fates of women and their social causes.
