浅析含“先行主语it”句式机译文本问题及其原因

Problems of Machine Translated-texts of Sentences Beginning with Anticipatory “it” and the Reasons

含"先行主语it"句是英语中最常见但结构较特殊的句式之一。机器翻译,即应用计算机实现从一种语言文本到另一种语言文本的翻译。虽然历经六十多年的发展,机译文本的质量已有大幅提高,但由于含"先行主语it"句式结构特殊,其机译文本可读性一直不强。分析Google和ICIBA处理的文本,发现含"先行主语it"句机译文本的问题主要为语序混乱、it处理不当及词义歧义。而导致这些问题的因素有两方面:自然语言的复杂性和机器翻译研究的不完善性。

Sentences beginning with anticipatory ＂it＂ are one of the most common sentences in English. Machine translation refers to the application of eompnter to translate texts written in one language into another. Although after about 60 years＇ development, there is improvement in machine-translated texts, the readability of machine-translated text of sentences beginning with anticipatory ＂it＂ still keeps low because of tbe special structure. Analyzing the texts translated by GoogIc and ICIBA, it is obvious that there are three prob-lems including chaotic word order, inappropriate translation of ＂it＂ and ambiguous meanings in machine-translated text of such sen-tences and two major reasons leading to them, namely, the complexity of natural language and the imperfect research of machine trans-lation.
