The kinematic analysis for the elliptical gears connecting rod assembly was conducted based on the variable transmission ratio characteristics of the elliptical gears to show the quick return characteristics of the assembly. An example study was provided to verify that this combined mechanism has good kinematic and quick return characteristics.
