时代背景下圣约翰大学的课程教学研究

The Curriculum in St. John's University under the Historical Background

圣约翰大学作为民国时期教会大学的典型代表,在语言教学特别是英语教学上广为称道,培养了大批外交人才。本文通过探求圣约翰大学在课程教学特别是英语教学上的特色,在梳理与补充前人研究的基础上,提出圣约翰大学在学时学分、教学计划、学生文化等方面的问题,并从中透视出时代变迁对教会大学课程教学的影响。

As a typical church university,St.John＇s University enjoyed great reputation in language teaching especially English teaching and fostered many diplomatic talents.This paper pointed out some imperfection on the basis of the features and previous research,which included the credit imbalance,inconformity between teaching plan and teaching activity,the lack of cultural literacy,weak ability of translation,in order to reflect the influence of historical change in church universities.
