国际音标在清末民国时的东渐之路

On the History of International Phonetic Alphabet in China in the Period of the Republic of China

国际音标的诞生和发展是人类语言学史上的一件大事,它因为解决了文字和语音不一致问题,从而成为语言学习的重要工具,因此自诞生以来便以强大的生命力和影响力走向世界。但其在中国的传播情况,长期以来却扑朔迷离,未有系统的描述,因此对国际音标在中国清末民国时的传播脉络予以梳理,不仅可以为英语教育工作者提供参考,而且对于国际音标自身的考察与研究也将不无补充。

The birth and development of IPA （International Phonetic Alphabet） has been a great event in the history of lin- guistics. Having solved the problem of inconformity between words speech sounds, it has become an important tool for language learning and then been widely affecting the world. However, the spreading history of IPA in China has long been whirling and lack of systematic description. Therefore, examining the spreading history of IPA in China in the period of the Republic of China can not only offer reference to linguistic workers but also complement to the research on IPA itself.
