Although Chinese characters have experienced thou- sands years of evolution since they appeared, they do not lose their luster in the years of vicissitudes, but have in-creasingly become a sign of the entire Chinese nation. In the new century, the Chinese characters continue to emit their unique light. They not only attract people around the world to learn Chinese, but have been given to the Unit-ed Nations as one of the official languages. Chinese characters are playing an important role on the world stage, u-sing its own unique charm to attract the eyes of the world, and to show China＇s ancient civilization to the world.
