摘要
《贵妇画像》的结尾历来是文学评论界关注的焦点,专家学者已从心理分析、女权主义、悲剧精神等不同角度对此进行了解读;各抒己见,各有启发,但却忽视了文本本身以及事物发展的内在原因。本文拟以文本分析为主要研究手段,深入剖析伊莎贝尔回归的内在原因,指出伊莎贝尔始终是矛盾的统一体,她最后选择回归那桩不幸的婚姻,是她矛盾的个性演变的必然结果,换言之,是小说作者把女主公思想和言行方面的矛盾统一起来之后给出的合理定位。
The end of The Portrait of a Lady has always been a focus of literary criticism. Critics have done much research on the end from the perspectives of psycho-analysis, feminism, tragic spirit, with different views and different inspirations. With text analysis as the main method, and by analyzing the inner causes of Isabel' s final choice to return to her unhappy marriage, this paper is to point out that Isabel is a unification of various contradictions, and that her final choice is an inev- itable result of the development of her personality; in other words, the author gives Isabel a reasonable position after he uni- fies Isabel' s contradictions in her thoughts and actions.
