Japanese novelthe Boat of Green Dill won the 140th Japanese Akutagawa Literature Prize. In the winning words, Judge Yamada Eibi highly praised it as ＂current Crab Factory Ship＂. How could this novel get so high glo- rification, and what is its special places for winning Akutagawa Literature Prize which sees pure literature as its tra- dition. The answer may be the reality of the work, but the real society in current Japan which is reflected by the heroine of this work as a representative of the ＂working poor＂ is the more crucial factor.
