摘要
绅士群体是史学界较为关注的课题,不过中原绅士研究相形落伍。清末民初河南省汲县绅士在家乡发展中的活动主要体现在以下三个方面:参与地方政事——改大户局为车马局,总董李敏修等力行改革,一定程度上减轻了汲县人民的负担;倡领社会风尚,如掀起办学、读书热,择善友而从之等;热心公益事业,如兴办义学,兴建义仓等。绅士的历史地位,应予以充分肯定,所谓绅士"劣质化"的论断,值得反思。
Nowadays historians are more concerned about the gentleman groups.However,the central plains gentleman research is relatively backward.Henan Ji Xian gentleman activities in the hometown of development were mainly reflected in the following three aspects in the late Qing dynasty and early Republic of China： Participating in local political affairs;advocating social fashion;enthusing about public welfare.All in all,we should recognize the gentlemen＇ historical status and so-called gentlemen ＂ bad＂ thesis is worthy of reflection.
