摘要
杰斐逊是美国的"国父"中对发展农业最情有独钟的一位,他的理想是将美国建设成为一个以小土地所有制为基础的农业国家。因此,杰斐逊从政期间为实现这一主张做了不少的实践,但是这些尝试都没有取得理想的结果。不过,杰斐逊的主张还是对19世纪美国的土地政策产生了重要的影响,指导了美国土地政策的走向。本文希望从杰斐逊的农业思想及其实践出发,客观地评价其和19世纪美国土地政策的联系。
Thomas Jefferson is a father of the United States who has the greatest interest and passion upon the agriculture of this country among others.His ideal is that this country should be based on farmers who own small and private lands and constructed to an agricultural nation.Hence,he came up with lots of disposals and programs on it during his political career.However,most of these attempts and trials were crippled.But,his ideas and prepositions have exerted a crucial influence upon the public land policy of the United States in the 19th which is guided by them considerably.This paper hopes to find the connection between Jefferson＇s viewpoints and practices of agriculture and the public land policy of the United States.
