This paper presents a case study of the combination of Pre-stressed High Strength Concrete （PHC） pile piles and the soil nails in supporting a deep excavation for a depressed square in Guangzhou City. The selection of the supporting scheme, construction techniques and the critical points during the installation are also introduced.
