摘要
本文以《时代周刊》(Times)中的60篇科技英语报道中出现的高频转述动词为研究对象,在大量总结研究的基础上,提出转述动词在科技语篇中的具体语用功能:感召功能、语用缓和功能、命题表态功能以及编码—解码经济性功能,以帮助读者了解科技语篇隐藏的报道者的真正意图,从而更好地理解和撰写科技报道。
This paper studies the high-frequency reporting verbs in sixty English technical reports in Times. Based on enormous researches and conclusions, this paper proposes four specific pragmatic functions of reporting verbs in scientific discourses ： vocative function, attitudinal function, mitigating function and coding-decoding economical function, so as to help readers understand reporters＇ real intentions hidden behind the reports, and hopefully provide guidance for better understanding and composing technical reports.
