Effect of Culture on Public Diplomacy:a Case Study of South Korea

随着全球化的深入发展,以文化交流与传播为核心的文化外交逐步发展到公共外交新阶段,成为国际文化软实力竞争和提升国家形象最有效的重要手段之一。战后韩国的"文化外交"向"公共外交"演进的历史表明,韩国的公共外交已经从国家事务的相对边缘地带逐步走向政治中心,对韩国良好国家形象的塑造与提升发挥了重要作用。

With development of globalization,cultural diplomacy with core of cultural exchange and dissemination has gradually developed into a new stage of public diplomacy.Cultural diplomacy has become an important way to strengthen cultural soft power and national image.The history of the process of South Korea from cultural diplomacy to public diplomacy after war shows that public diplomacy has been approaching to the center of politics from the relatively marginal region of national affairs and greatly helps the country to improve its image.
