In the context of modern society and viewed from societal transformation, Agnes Heller interprets the space -time experience, sense of belonging, ego and personality construction of modern people. She discloses people spiritual dilemma especially homesickness brought by society. She criticizes that the critical defects of people＇s spirit lies in that they pay much attention to secular happiness but lack enthusiasm and behavior to pursue the sacred, tran- scendental, and metaphysical. However, she hopes that people＇s personality could be rebuilt.
