The Identity Anxiety in the Diasporic Writing of Chinese American Authors

美国华裔作家作为全球流散群体中的一支,游离于故国与所居住国文化之间,以边缘人的双重视角去审视中美两种文化,思考并实践着文化的变迁、融合和生长。他们的写作无一例外地探讨了在强势异地流散者的文化身份危机、文化身份重构及人类整体文化的命运和走势等问题。因此,我们可以基于后殖民理论,从流散批评的视角出发,来探讨美国华裔写作中流散者的身份焦虑。

As one vital branch of the world diasporic groups, Chinese American authors drift between the Chinese and American culture, and they survey both cultures from the double perspectives, ponder over and carry out the changes and blending of the two different cultures. Their diasporic writing inevitably discusses the issues of cultural identity crisis, cultural identity reconstruction diasporic groups face and predicts the fate and trend of culture of all human beings. Based on the post-colonialism theory, the pres- ent paper studied the identity anxieties in the Chinese American diaporic writings from the perspective of diasporic criticism.
