Gut microbes play important roles in the nutrient metabolism, energy metabolism and immune func- tion. Microbial adhesion, colonization, and interactions with host intestinal epithelial ceils in these processes are essential, therefore in-depth understanding of crosstalk between the microbe and the host is a key to clarify how microbes involve in nutritional, metabolic and immune processes. In this paper, we reviewed several in- testinal microbe interaction research models, as well as the advances and applications in these models. ~ Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2013, 25 ( 8 ) : 1677-16821
