粟、稷同物异名,秦汉之前两者并无明显使用区别,秦汉之后稷专用于庙堂,粟则用于民生。
The Chinese character ＂Su＂ （粟） and ＂Ji＂ （稷） are the synonyms of the millet （Setaria italica） in ancient China. There was no difference of their use on different occasions before the Qin and Han Dynasty. However, after this period, Ji became exclusive terms for the sacrifice while Su was more and more used people＇s common life.
