Designing Cities:From Formal Understanding to Formal Design

基于现代城市设计的核心目标,本文试图建立城市设计实践中从形态理解到形态设计的基本方法线索。作者将形态分析分解为描述、成因与诠释三种彼此联系的类别。在此基础上,提出了范式与变形、基底与嵌入、分层与叠合三种基本的设计策略。文章最后讨论了城市设计成果进入城市规划连续决策机制的诸种方式。

Towards the key objective of modern urban design, this article will focus on the basic process from formal understanding to formal design. Based on organizing three kings of formaJ analysis including description, exposing causes and formal interpretation with relationships each other, the article suggests transformation of paradigm, mosaic within to background and overlaying as fundamental strategies of design practice. Several methods of making design results into the successive process of plan and decision will be discussed at last.
