The Settlement of Macao Seniors in the Mainland:Trends,Causes and Features

对澳门特区长者进行访问调查,结合抽样调查所得的微观数据,使用logit模型对澳门长者定居内地的问题进行实证分析,着重考察影响长者定居内地决策的各类因素,分析澳门长者定居内地的方式与地区选择。研究结果显示,就目前状况而言,澳门生活各方面综合条件相对内地更为优越,仅1/4的长者愿意回内地定居。随着内地生活环境、社会公共服务设施等方面逐步改善,从绝对数来看,在未来几十年,将会有庞大的长者群体选择回内地定居,选择的地区集中在毗邻澳门的珠江三角洲西岸城市。

By means of interview and survey,this paper studies the trends,causes and features of Macao seniors' settling in the mainland.Based on the micro survey data,this paper uses the logit model to examine various fators affecting the decision to settle in the mainland oi Macao seniors and also analyses how and where thev choose to settle.Empirical results show that since the overall living standard of Macao is superior to that of the mainland,only 1/4 of the seniors are willing to settle in the mainland.However,with the improvement of the mainlands living environment and public services,in the future there will be a large number of seniors who will choose to settle in the mainland,in absolute term.
