Ames test is widely applied in genotoxicity study of drugs, food, cosmetics and medical instruments, which is the most widely used test for detecting genetic mutation in vitro. There are some differences in Ames test of drugs, health food and cosmetics. We gave a comparison and analysis of the main differences and similarities in the present review.
