徐渭:于文不幸若马耕

Xu Wei:A Diligent Writer

徐渭是明代后期以文墨糊口四方的读书人之一。跟大多数人一样,他贫困不遇而工于诗文,缙绅阶层的文化需求给他提供了笔耕谋生的渠道,但他追求人格平等,行动自由,这种个性使他与讲究礼法的达官贵人难以相容。可是,无论徐渭如何厌恶这些贵人,处于生存压力之下的他仍然不得不拿起笔墨,奔走觅食。

Xu Wei was one of the men making a living by writing in the late Ming Dynasty. Like most people, he was poor but talented, and he had a way to make a living by meeting the cultural needs of gentry＇s class. However, his pursuit of equality and freedom made him incompatible with noble lords. No matter how he hated the noble, Xu Wei still had to write for them because of the survival pressure.
