文章从四个方面研究高职院校推动西部区域经济发展的策略:首先,培养基层人才,填补西部经济发展技术技能型人才的空缺;其次,"产学研"合作,服务地方经济发展;再次,高职院校服务社会,践行在国家可持续发展中承担的重要历史使命。最后,"文化搭台,经济唱戏",繁荣西部特色文化推动区域经济发展。

Vocational colleges become the largest source of education which has promoted local economic and social development and improved people＇s living standards. From four aspects of vocational colleges the paper researches on strategies to promote the Western regional economic development.
