China regards the developing countries as the diplomatic corner- stone and strategic foothold, and has attached importance to strengthening and developing relations with the Arab countries. From the establishment of diplomatic relations with Egypt in May 1956 as a start to July 1990 when China established diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia, China had established formal diplomatic relations with all 22 Arab countries Over the past 50 years, China-Arab relations have continuously solidified and developed.
