The background a nd mining history of mineral resources i n the rgeion of Xuzhou were described in the paper. Because of the underground c oal mining over a long period of time, a series of ecological and environmental geological problem was caused to happen. The author pointed out the properti es of surface breakdowns and their growi ng mechanism and made a detailed stateme nt on how the damage of ecogeological en vironment was caused by coal mining acti vities. Lastly, the author put forward s ome prevention countermoves in the light of the damage.
