The background of the Nordstream natural gas pipeline and the cause and outcome of different program disputes are analyzed from the perspective of the relationship between the EU's energy security and Russia's energy exports.The picture of energy,ecology,economic security and global climate change interests behind the scenes of the Nordstream natural gas pipeline disputes has clearly reflected competition of energy and geopolitical interests among the EU,the former Soviet Republics and Russia.In addition the Nordstream natural gas pipeline is a typical successful case of multilateral energy cooperation and has great significance as a reference in research for future multilateral energy cooperation among Russia,China and other countries in Asia and the Pacific.
