Note-taking is an essential part of interpretation, which is used to make up for the inefficiency of an interpreter＇ s short-term memory and helps the interpreter to retrieve the main point and logical structure of the information from the source language. Just like other skills, the acquisition of note-taking skill must follow the general rule for skill acquisition. According to the cognitive psychology, the note-taking skill is a kind of procedural knowledge derived from accumulation and practice of declarative knowledge.
