在唐诗中出现的一些植物名称具有特定的文化内涵,是汉语文化负载词的一部分,译者想准确地翻译这些词汇并非易事。许渊冲是唐诗英译的成功典范,他所采用的翻译策略和方法可供其他译者学习与效仿。本文将把由许渊冲英译的《唐诗三百首》一书中出现的具有中国特色的植物名称作为研究对象,意在分析与总结许渊冲在英译此类词汇时所采用的翻译策略与方法。

Some plants name appeared in Tang poetry have certain cultural connotations.They are part of Chinese culture-loaded expressions.Therefore,it is not easy to translate these words accurately.XU Yuanchong is a successful model in translating Tang poetry.The translation strategy and method he adopted in translation can provide reference for other translators to learn and follow.By using some plants with Chinese characteristics that are appeared in ＂ Three Hundred Tang Poems＂ translated by XU Yuanchong as study subject,this paper analyzes and summarizes the translation strategy and method adopted by Xu Yuanchong in translating this type of words.
