商业运营下的文学图景——《申报》早期小说刊载现象评析

Literary Prospect Under the Commercial Operation——A Review of the Early Novels Published on Shenbao

从创刊至此后的十余年间,《申报》虽未设专栏刊登小说,但一直都在刊载笔记小说。此时的小说栖身于社会新闻之中,形成新闻与小说共存的现象。报纸的商业经营是造成《申报》早期小说刊载现象的最重要因素。早期《申报》的这种刊载实践不仅为申报馆的小说活动积累了宝贵经验,而且影响了当时其他中文报纸的小说刊载,掀开了晚清小说发展的新篇章。

From its initial issue,Shenbao published novels for more than ten years.At that time,Shenbao did not set a column to publish novels.Novels always dwell in the column of the city news——a phenomenon that news and novels coexist on a newspaper.The author＇s idea is that the commercial operation of the newspaper is the most important factor causing Shenbao to publish novels.This practice of publishing early novels not only accumulates valuable experiences for Shenbao Press,but also influences other Chinese newspapers at that time.It unveiled a new page for the development of novels in the late Qing Dynasty.
