The detection limit is an important index of chemical analysis, the instrument detection limit, method detection limit, sample detection limit and minimum quantitative detection limit were discussed. The calculation methods of the method detection limit were introduced in this paper, providing a reference for detemlining the limit of detection of chemical analysis.
