A novel structural adhesive family for toughening was introduced in this article.The categories,major performance,performance advantages and construction process of the structural adhesives for toughening were summarized in detail.A case study was included as well describing the application and performance of the structural adhesive on car body for stiffness improvement and spot weld reduction.
