The Analysis of the Funds of the Charitable Schools of Hubei Province in the Qing Dynasty

清代湖北义学经费来源渠道多样,得到官方和民间的大力支持。但经费来源缺乏制度性保障,呈现不稳定性。义学的收支总体处于平衡状态,但区域相对集中,各地义学经济实力不平衡,其经费运营呈现出鲜明的时代特征与地域特色。

In the Qing Dynasty, the financial sources of charitable schools in Hubei Province were flexible with the official and folk support. However, being lack of institutional protection the funding sources were instable. The charitable schools＇ income and out- come was in balance generally, but the schools were relatively located in the same region, which made the financial situation of the schools unbalanced. The funds of these schools showed distinct time＇s features and regional characteristics.
