By depicting the physical space and the ecological environment of the future London in Two Fragments,Ian McEwan explores the theme of ecology,which includes two respects： one is concerned with nature,and the other is about humanity.In the novel,he precisely manifests a prospect of the depraved London and thus unfolds truthfully the emotional state and existing predicament of London people as the subject of metropolis.Moreover,the reflection of the rigors of the human future is also proposed.
