The stress variation and ultimate stress of UPS in 19 UPC frames under vertical or horizontal cyclic loadings has been discussed.The principal factors affecting ultimate stress of UPS such as types of loading,transverse steel ratio of existing hoops,composite reinforced force ratio,span-high ratio have been analyzed in both qualitative and quantitative way based on the test results combined with nonlinear analyzing model of prestressed concrete structures.A modified formula used to calculate the ultimate stress of UPS,has also been proposed,which is more applicable to regions of earthquake.
