摘要
《戏考》是民国时期最大最有影响的京剧剧本集子。它1912-1925年分40册陆续由上海中华图书馆出版。1912-1925年,正是梅兰芳头几次去上海,改良旧戏,尝试演时装新戏,创造古装戏,尝试给外国观众演中国戏的在他艺术发展的路途上一段十分重要的时段。《戏考》每一出剧本前有述考该剧的情节内容,故事来源,与舞台上演出史的序言,很少有学者研究或利用它。《戏考》每一册前面有十页的名伶小影。本文考述梅兰芳在《戏考》的名伶小影,剧本述考,和剧本选择这三部分中的表现。
Xikao(lit. 'Play Research') was published serially in 40 installments from 1912 to 1925 in Shanghai. Each installment has three sections: 1) about 10 pages of photos of actors,2) play scripts of various lengths,and 3) introductory essays to the plays that address the sources of the plays,their plot,and their performance history. The entire series includes more than 500 plays and is the biggest printing of such plays before 1949. It was extremely important in the'textualization'of Beijing opera and was copied in many ways by later collections. The years of Xikao's publication were also the very years that Mei Lanfang(1894- 1961) rose to national prominence. This paper traces how Mei Lanfang's presence in Xikao increased over the years of its publication and how the image of him in it contains some elements that differ from Mei Lanfang's popular image today.
