摘要
1951年创刊的《中国文学》是中国国内迄今为止唯一一份向英语世界译介中国文学的综合性刊物,但至今学界关注不足。通过分析《中国文学》的创办动机、翻译选材、翻译策略及其与同时期文学思潮和国家外交政策之间的互动,探讨《中国文学》与冷战这一特殊历史时期的新中国民族国家建构之间的密切关系,揭示这一刊物在特定历史背景下发挥的重要作用。
Chinese Literature launched in 1951 is the only journal in China aiming at translating Chinese literature to the English world. This paper analyzes the purpose, the choices of translation materials, translation strategies of this magazine, and their interactions with literary poetics and foreign policies during 1951 to 1966, in an attempt to reveal the close relation between the magazine and the nation-building project and the important role of the magazine at the time.
