Since the mid-19th century, the trend of holding Trade Fairs gradually spread from Europe and United States to Eastern Asia. Japan began to promote and reward the holding of a variety of exhibitions and exported its domestic exhibitions into Taiwan and the occupied areas of the Mainland. Basing on the archival sources, this article takes the exhibitions held in Taiwan and Xinxian, Shanxi province which wan called "pin-ping hui" by the locals as examples, and tries to analyze the differences of organisation, methods of display and effects caused by different colonial policies. And thinks that the former is the results of Japan's long-term colonial Taiwan, focusing on promoting economic development, the latter is the important means to deal with Japan's looting strategic materials during the wartime.
