认知语用学视角下英语课堂沉默研究

摘要 有声语言是人类交际的重要手段,同样,无声语言也能传递丰富的信息,有时甚至是有声语言难以或无法表达的。作为非言语交际手段之一的沉默是英语课堂交际中常见的现象,同时,也是最容易被我们忽视和误解的,以致引起交际失误。本文将在关联理论(Sperber&Wilson,1986)和认知语境等相关知识构建的平台之上,结合英语课堂会话中师生沉默的例子,探讨其丰富含义的生成和理解机制,从而提高教学效率。 Verbal language is the most important way of man' s communication, likewise the non - verbal language . Sometimes non - verbal language can transform much richer information than the verbal one. Silence, a main act of nonverbal communication, is very common in our English class. But it is often ignored, causing communicative failures. On the basis of Relevance Theory (Sperber&Wilson, 1986) and the knowledge of cog- nitive context, integrating with examples of teacher' s &student' s silence in English class, this paper explores the psychological process of the communicator ix, interpreting the rich meaning ef silence to improve English teaching efficiency.
