舞蹈之所以是一种文化现象,是因为它的形成与人类文明的发展有着密切的关系。不同时代的文化特征都会在舞蹈中得到遗存,使之成为相对稳定的形式。不同的民族,由于其历史、社会、政治、经济等方面的差异背景,积淀了各种不同的文化传说。要发掘民族民间舞蹈价值的方法,应首先了解民族民间舞蹈的价值层面。民族民间舞蹈的价值大体分三个层面:物质层面、制度层面和心理层面。而这些方法也是需要整理的。弘扬民族民间舞蹈事业,必须深入到实际生活中去挖掘各种民族的舞文化,才能使其细化和美化。

Dancing is a cultural phenomenon because the process of its forming is closely related with the de- velopment of human civilization. Cultural characteristics of different ages have their traces in dance and are consoli- dated into some comparatively steady forms. Different nations, with their differenciation in historical , social, polit- ical and economic aspects, generally have their own cultural sediments. The first step to explore the method of study the folk dance is to understand the value level of it. The value of folk dance could be divided into three lev- els： material level, institutional level and psychological level.
