Independence,Reform and Development——The Characteristics and Enlightenment of Recruitment of Church University During the Anti-Japanese War

抗日战争全面爆发后,国家面临深重灾难,教会大学身处恶劣环境,原有招考模式遭到破坏。本着强烈的社会责任感,教会大学克服重重困难,积极变通招考制度,因时、因地、因校制定招考策略,设立战时急需专业,积极组织大学联考,增设奖学助学名额,全力招收爱国青年,不仅为保存中国高等教育命脉作出积极贡献,也使教会大学整体获得长足发展。教会大学招生考试因自主、得变通、促发展的历史经验为当前高校自主招生考试改革留下诸多有益的启示。

Church Universities were in harsh environment after the outbreak of Anti-Japanese War.Its original recruitment mode was destroyed.Facing so many troubles,the Church Universities reformed their recruitment policies according to the needs of the special period,local government and society,and each university.New professional disciplines were established and joint entrance exam were held as well as the scholarship were added.All of the above showed that the Church Universities were very independent and with a strong sense of social responsibility in reforming their recruitment policy and activity.The reform not only contributed to reserve the essence of Chinese higher education,but also promoted the great development of the whole body of Church University.The concepts of independent,reform and development of Church Universities in recruitment also left beneficial enlightenment.
