摘要 优秀的电影字幕翻译是中国电影走向世界的有力助推器。和文学翻译相同,电影字幕中文化因素是译者最难处理的部分。作为文学翻译的一个分支,字幕翻译不仅具有文学翻译的一般特点,还有其自身的特殊性:即时性、大众性和综合性。文章从字幕翻译自身的特征出发,以目的论为理论指导,通过分析电影《霸王别姬》和《风月》的英文字幕,探究字幕翻译中文化负载词的翻译策略。 Good film subtitles translations are powerful "boosters" to carry Chinese films around the world. As a branch of literary translation, the translation of cultural factors in film subtitles is conceived as the hard part due to the fact that film subtitles translation not only shares the common features of literary translation, but also bears some specific properties of which instantaneity, popularity and comprehensiveness are most conspicuous. Based on com- prehensive analysis of examples taken from two famous Chinese films Farewell, My Concubine and Temptress Moon, this paper attempts to explore the translation strategies of cultural-loaded words in film subtitles within the frame- work of Skopostheories.
