Pyrimidines were important chemical materials and intermediates, which were widely used in pharmacy and pesticides industry. A approach to synthesize the title compound was introduced, which was realized and manufactured from 4, 6 - dichloro - 5 - methylpyrimidine via two steps. Its structure was verified by MS and 1H NMR. This synthetic route had the advantages of convenient operation and mild reaction conditions. The total product yield was 91%. This program was suitable for industrial production.
